The Optika B-293 is a trinocular brightfield microscope for routine laboratory and teaching use, with a third photo port for a camera. It uses N-PLAN objectives at 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x oil, giving 40x to 1000x total magnification through 10x eyepieces with a 20 mm field number. The X-LED3 illumination source runs at 3.6 W and reaches a lifetime beyond 65,000 hours. The rackless, double-layer stage moves 75 x 33 mm on a belt-driven mechanism. The trinocular Siedentopf head inclines 30 degrees and rotates 360 degrees, with a 50/50 light split and an interpupillary range of 55 to 75 mm. It suits routine biology, histology, and teaching labs that also need image capture.

Trinocular Brightfield Microscope for Routine Laboratory Use with Camera Port

The Optika B-293 is a trinocular N-PLAN microscope built for routine transmitted-light observation with the option to attach a camera through the third port. It combines a rackless stage, an Abbe condenser, and X-LED3 illumination on a single die-cast aluminum body.

  • Suited to routine biology, histology, and teaching labs needing image capture
  • N-PLAN objectives cover 40x to 1000x total magnification
  • X-LED3 illumination rated for more than 65,000 hours
  • Trinocular port with 50/50 light split for simultaneous viewing and imaging
  • 20 mm field number gives a wide view of the specimen

Optika B-293 Trinocular Brightfield Microscope for Routine Laboratory Use

The Optika B-293 is a trinocular upright microscope built on the B-290 series brightfield platform, with a third port for camera attachment.

All main controls sit close together, so the microscope can be operated with minimal hand movement during long sessions.

N-PLAN Optics

The B-293 uses N-PLAN plan achromatic objectives at 4x, 10x, 40x, and 100x oil, giving 40x to 1000x total magnification through 10x/20 eyepieces.

  • Quadruple reversed nosepiece on ball bearings
  • Anti-fungus treated optics

Trinocular Head with Camera Port

The trinocular Siedentopf head splits light 50/50 between the eyepieces and the photo port, with an interpupillary range of 55 to 75 mm.

  • 30 degrees inclined, 360 degrees rotating
  • Diopter adjustment on both tubes

Rackless Double-Layer Stage

The double-layer stage moves 75 x 33 mm on a belt-driven, rackless mechanism, with a vernier scale accurate to 0.1 mm on both axes.

  • Anti-scratch painted surface
  • Centerable Abbe condenser, N.A. 0.9/1.25

X-LED3 Illumination

Illumination comes from a 3.6 W X-LED3 source with manual brightness control and a fixed color temperature of 6,300 K, rated at more than 65,000 hours of lifetime.

  • External power supply, 100-240 Vac input, multi-plug EU/UK/US
  • 6 W maximum power draw

Ideal Applications

The B-293 suits routine transmitted-light observation where image capture through a third port adds value.

  • Routine biology and histology teaching with documentation
  • General laboratory brightfield observation
  • Training environments needing shared image capture
  • Standard glass slide work in schools and colleges

Choose the B-293 when:

  • You need a camera port in addition to binocular viewing
  • Your work does not require infinity-corrected optics
  • You want the same N-PLAN optics as the B-292 with trinocular output
  • You may add darkfield or phase contrast sliders later

Optika Value Proposition

Optika has manufactured educational and laboratory microscopes for more than 45 years and sells through dealers in more than 150 countries. The B-293 carries the same X-LED3 illumination used across the Optika range, backed by a 10-year warranty on mechanical and optical parts and a lifetime warranty on the X-LED light source.
