The K89008 is an acid-grade activated carbon filter for the Exacta DIAM125BP ventilation box. It’s designed to capture acid vapours before the air is exhausted outdoors, improving safety and comfort when using acid storage cabinets. It is not a molecular filtration system for recirculation and does not provide NF X 15-211 compliance. Keep active ventilation and (where flammables are stored) target about 10 air changes/hour of cabinet volume (EN 14470-1 practice). Replace roughly every six months.
What this filter does
K89008 adsorbs acid vapours in the exhaust stream of cabinets connected to a DIAM125BP unit. It functions as a pre-exhaust polishing stage to reduce odour and emissions before air leaves the building — ideal when venting acid storage cabinets to the outside.
When to use it
Choose K89008 for acids/corrosives. For solvents, use K89007; for different chemistries, select the appropriate media or a Chemtrap box if you need recirculation that complies with NF X 15-211.
What it’s not for
This cartridge is not intended to return air to the room and does not satisfy NF X 15-211; it’s specifically for ducted exhaust (pre-discharge).
Safety reminder
Active ventilation is strongly recommended for chemical and fireproof storage cabinets; in practice (for flammable storage) labs follow EN 14470-1 guidance of roughly 10 air changes per hour of the cabinet’s internal volume.
