Description
The Lab Armor Beads – 4 Liters (42370-004) provide a high-performance, waterless solution for heating and cooling in most standard-depth, non-circulating laboratory baths. These durable metal beads deliver exceptional thermal uniformity—typically ±0.25–0.75°C per inch—and can operate over a temperature range from -80°C to 180°C.
Lab Armor Beads also provide built-in antimicrobial protection, helping to prevent contamination and keep valuable samples safe. Their unique design securely holds tubes, plates, and other vessels at any angle, without the need for racks, floats, or bottleneck weights.
Compared to traditional water baths, bead-filled baths require minimal maintenance—a monthly clean with 70% ethanol or isopropyl alcohol is sufficient—and consume significantly less energy: over 4× less energy at 65°C and over 2× less at 37°C.
Ideal for warming, thawing, incubating, or chilling, the 4L size is perfect for medium-volume applications in research, clinical, and industrial laboratories.
