The Lab Armor Beads – 5 Liters (42370-005) offer an advanced waterless alternative for heating and cooling in standard-depth, non-circulating laboratory baths. Built from solid, recyclable metal, these beads ensure outstanding thermal uniformity—typically ±0.25–0.75°C per inch—across a wide temperature range from -80°C to 180°C.

With antimicrobial properties built into every bead, they protect against contamination and help safeguard valuable samples. Their shape and density securely hold vessels of all sizes, including non-watertight containers, without the need for racks, floats, or bottleneck weights.

Compared to traditional water baths, bead-filled baths require less maintenance—a monthly wipe with 70% ethanol or isopropyl alcohol is enough—and significantly reduce energy consumption, using over 4× less energy at 65°C and over 2× less at 37°C.

The 5L size is ideal for laboratories needing greater bead capacity for larger baths or higher-throughput workflows in research, diagnostics, and industrial applications.
