CLSI Laboratory Water Production with the Neptec Proteus AS
The Neptec Proteus AS is a fully integrated laboratory water purification system designed to produce high-quality CLSI / CLRW water for clinical laboratory instruments. The system combines pretreatment, reverse osmosis and final polishing cartridges in a compact cabinet, enabling laboratories to generate purified water directly from potable tap water.
Thanks to its integrated storage tank and booster pump, the Proteus AS can continuously supply water to clinical analysers and diagnostic equipment. The modular purification design ensures reliable removal of dissolved salts, organic compounds, particles and microorganisms, while maintaining stable water quality for sensitive analytical processes.
Reliable Water Supply for Clinical Analysers
Clinical chemistry analysers and diagnostic instruments require stable and reproducible water quality to guarantee accurate results. The Proteus AS produces water that complies with recognised laboratory standards such as CLSI CLRW, ensuring safe operation of automated analysers in hospitals, research institutes and diagnostic laboratories.
The integrated reverse osmosis membrane removes up to 99 % of dissolved ions, bacteria and organic contaminants. Downstream polishing cartridges further reduce residual impurities to achieve consistently high water purity.
Compact “All-in-One” Laboratory Water System
All purification components are installed inside a single compact cabinet. Pretreatment cartridges protect the RO membrane, while an internal storage tank with full recirculation ensures hygienic water storage and stable quality. The system includes UV flow-through disinfection and a sterile 0.2 µm filter to prevent microbial contamination during dispensing.
A large touchscreen interface allows operators to monitor all relevant parameters, including conductivity, temperature, pressure and system performance. Alarm history and maintenance reminders ensure safe operation and simplify routine laboratory workflows.
Efficient Operation and Low Maintenance
The Neptec Proteus AS is designed for economical long-term operation. Consumables can be replaced quickly, and optional stainless-steel polishing cartridges allow regeneration to reduce operating costs. Optional modules such as EDI purification or degassing can be added depending on laboratory requirements.
