The CleanAir BioVanguard B4 is a 1.20 m wide cytotoxic safety cabinet engineered for the handling of CMR compounds, hazardous drugs and high-potency APIs in GMP pharmaceutical environments. TÜV Nord certification to DIN 12980 confirms compliance with Europe’s most demanding standards for cytotoxic drug preparation.
Based on the proven airflow architecture of CleanAir’s Class II biological safety cabinets, the B4 integrates a critical enhancement: an additional HEPA filtration layer beneath the work surface. This under-worktray filter can be replaced while the cabinet remains in operation, ensuring uninterrupted workflow and maximum user protection.
During filter replacement, the operator remains shielded by the negative-pressure air curtain beneath the front opening. Any released particles are immediately captured by the downflow or exhaust HEPA filters, preserving full containment.
Air handling is driven by three oversized German EBM-Papst EC motors combined with a large, easily accessible prefilter. This configuration delivers the longest HEPA filter lifetime on the market and the lowest total cost of ownership across the cabinet’s service life. Noise, vibration and energy consumption increase only minimally as filters load.
Electronics designed and manufactured in the Netherlands ensure exceptional reliability, minimal downtime and long operational life.
Safety is further reinforced by the double-wall construction under negative pressure, preventing hazardous substances from escaping even in the event of a structural leak. The V-shaped front grille stabilises the protective air curtain, while the sloped rear grille prevents airflow obstruction by the operator.
Seamless interior finishing and a forward-tilting sash simplify cleaning and decontamination between preparation cycles.
